Napoleon Dynamite Sequence

The challenge of this project was to remake a sequence from a film 'Napoleon Dynamite ' we had to try and use similar camera angles and similar lighting .

Before we started recording each of us individually had to create a story board . In the storyboard we drew how the scene has to look also including the camera angle and some additional notes to help later when we recorded our sequences in our groups .

After we finished doing our storyboards we got put into groups with people we mostly likely not worked with before which I thought was great as I got to know more people from the class . During filming we didn't face many problems except when the camera person made a rookie mistake instead of shooting the actual scene recording something that was not needed however this wasn't much of a problem as it was only two scenes we had to re-record later on .

If we did this again I think we would probably would look more into the lighting and the camera angles more closely to recreate the original better .

The main difference between the two shots here is the lighting . In our version the actors were exposed to more light because we were near a glass door . Also I think we didn't really get the distance from the camera to the actors right because in the original the characters are shown from knees and above and in our version from half way and up which is a big difference .
